The thickness of the skin varies from around 0.5mm on the eyelids up to around 4mm on the palms of the hands. As you have so much skin to care for it makes sense to know what type of skin you have and how best to care for it. There are 5 main skin types; normal, dry, oily, Combination and sensitive. In this series of articles we are looking at all the different skin types and how best to care for them. 2. Dry Skin Dry skin feels tight, especially after cleansing. It may lack natural oils, may look rather flaky with small pores, blemishes and blackheads and look quite dull. Dry skin often has problems in cold weather and ages faster than normal or oily skin. Care of Dry Skin A creamy cleanser should be used with dry skin. You should remove the cleanser with cotton wool and then rinse with cold water. Next use a thick mosturising cream to seal in the moisture. Homemade Recipes for Dry Skin Types Honey Face Pack (If you are allergic to eggs do not use this pack) 1 tablespoon honey 1 egg yoke 1 teaspoon olive oil Break the egg into a bowl and beat well then add the olive oil to the egg and mix. Add the honey and blend well. Put the mixture all over your face leaving out the area around the eyes. Leave the mixture on for 15 minutes then rinse off with cool water. Almond Face Scrub 1 tablespoon of almond oil. 2 tablespoon of mosturising cream. Mix both the ingredients together to make a paste and apply to the face. Let it dry (around 15 minutes) and remove by scrubbing with a face cloth. Wash your face with warm water and give it a final rinse with cold water.
